Definitivamente dejo de acudir a este hospital !! Llevo desde febrero con cita en dermatología y me lo han ido cambiando 3 veces , la última para casi finales de verano , cuando siempre me he de mirar Antes para prevenir la temporada veraniega !!

The ophthalmology department of this hospital is generally very good and almost all the staff I met were kind, patient and professional. However, my experience with Trichiasis surgery here left me with very bad memories. I have a serious problem with abnormal eyelashes and had my first surgery many years ago at another hospital, which was successful, but as my eyelids recovered with age, my eyelashes started to stick in my eyes again and I needed a second surgery. After the consulting in the hospital, I decided to have it done here. However, the result was a bit disappointing... instead of a smooth curve, my surgical wound formed a V-shape underneath my eye, making my eye look strange. At first, the doctor reassured me that it would be back to normal after a few days. However, after a few days, it did’t recover. During the second follow-up appointment the doctor also admited that it hadn’t recovered ideally and explained that he had used a new technique on me, but that this new technique might not work on my much thinner eye skin, and that he would use the traditional technique when he operated on the other eye of mine. He asked me when I was going to have the operation on my next eye, but by with the newly operated eye which looks very ugly I was so worried that I didn't want to have the next operation anytime soon, so I decided to wait and see for a while before deciding at the next follow-up appointment. Sadly, by the time of my next follow-up appointment, which was more than a month after the surgery, my lower eyelids were still shaped strangely, and by that time I had started to turn down social events and felt self-conscious about my eyes. When I went for my follow up appointment, the doctor said with great certainty that my eye was recovering well (totally different with the last time) and asked me when I would like to do the next surgery. I said I didn't feel like I had recovered well, in fact the eye made half of my face look at least ten years older than the other half and I'd almost lost my social confidence, but the doctor acted like he couldn't care less and said that the surgery was supposed to have a chance of failing, I should know about that. Well, maybe I was unlucky, so I calmed down and asked him to ensure if he would give me the traditional technique instead of the new one for the next surgery. The doctor asked me in an uncomfortable tone, refusing admit the existence of the new technique: "what new technique? I have never had only one technique here.If you want to do the surgery, do it, I'll use the same technic which I used the last time. And if you don't want it, you can choose another hospital." My mind went blank, I didn't know why the doctor said that, and I didn't feel any respect from his attitude. I cried for a long time after I came back from the hospital and used a lot of products to eliminate the scars, hoping that with the passage of time my eye would become a little bit more normal, however it worked very little. Now more than a year has passed, my lower eyelid is still V-shaped and has a groove that looks very much like a wrinkle, and I look at least ten years older than the other half of my face. I went home to visit my family during the new year and my relatives asked my mum in secret why suddenly I looked so old. I used to be a very social person and now I don't want to meet anyone who used to know me. If I don't have make-up on before I go out, I feel anxious and don't have the confidence to go and have a normal social interaction. The eye has also affected my sleep and daily mental state. Of course, apart from this doctor, all the other healthcare professionals I have met here have been excellent. Surgery certainly has a failure rate, I'm not blaming anyone for my bad luck but objectively describing the possible consequences of a failed surgery. Also, that doctor's inconsistency and lack of patience was unpleasant for me, which I have to point that out. Hope everyone won't suffer the same thing I met...... May everyone be lucky and healthy.
